We've had several trips to the mountains and the Bow River that I haven't reported on, so it's time to get back to the updates. The Bow River seemed to be a little slow, if not unpredictable, the last couple of weeks. On days that it wasn't slow, it seemed that we were catching a lot of smaller fish, so I was wondering what today would have in store. Joining me today were Justin, who is new to fly fishing, and Dennis, who has been fishing for years. Temperature-wise
the day was pretty much perfect, although we did spend a good part of the drift fighting a strong wind. While fishing was a bit spotty today, we ended the day boating over a dozen fish and missed and lost many others. The go to fly early on today was the prince nymph and we also had some success with the chenille worm. Dennis spent a lot of time fishing a hopper-dropper set up and tried streamers throughout the day. While he did have a few hits on the dry, streamers didn't attract any attention. All in all it was a very enjoyable day on the Bow River with a couple of great guys.
