Wayne (Calgary) joined me again today with Skip (Idaho), another of his business colleagues for a day on the Bow River. The day was absolutely beautiful with clear, blue skies and warm temperatures, and for a change, any wind we did have, didn't interfere with casting. The city section of the river, while rising, is still in remarkable condition and despite the rising water level, the water seems to be clearing up. Again today, didymo was fouling our hooks on the upper section, but the amount of this algae floating down the river has certainly decreased over the past week. Again today, the fish were not interested in any worm patterns and focused instead on the beadhead nymphs that we were throwing. The weekend forecast is calling for rain and SNOW if you can believe it so that may be it for fishing until run-off is over.
