Wayne (Calgary) and Tim (Oregon) joined me for a very enjoyable day on the Bow River. Run-off still hasn't hit, so the river is in pretty decent shape for early June. Visibility improved as the day progressed, and the river was really shaping up until we hit Christmas Tree Island, just above the Deerfoot extension. At that point, a lot of sediment entering the river reduced visibility to just inches. The diymo (rock snot) situation was much better than it was on May 29th and it also seemed to lessen as we moved further downstream. The fishing started slowly and was spotty throughout the day. We landed a few browns, a rainbow and a whitefish, all of which took smaller beadhead patterns. We seemed to have a lot of soft takes today as many fish were lost after a couple of hard headshakes. All in all it was a great day on the water with wonderful guests.
