July Bow River Fishing Trips Part 5
Well this time we're going to include one from August, so it's technically a fishing trips blog entry about August and July....
July 29, 2007,
Another slow, 30+ degree day on the Bow River as two of us guided a group of four from McKinnon Flats to Carseland. Today we threw pretty much everything we had in our fly boxes and between the two boats we landed only four or five fish. Streamers seemed to be the only thing working for us and Dave landed this nice 21 to 22 inch brown trout using a Bow River bugger.

Yoshi has come to Calgary to kick off five or six days of fishing the Bow River and some of the smaller rivers and streams southwest of the city. Today we floated from Fish Creek Park to McKinnon Flats and got off to a great start with three fish, one smaller brown and a couple of smaller rainbows, brought to the boat in the first fifteen minutes. Things slowed down a bit but Yoshi landed six and lost at least that many to long distance releases by the time we stopped for some lunch. The afternoon was quite slow with another couple of fish landed and a few more hooks-ups. I really enjoyed the day with Yoshi and wish him well as he explores some of Alberta's great mountain streams.
