Fishing for Rainbows at McKinnon Flats
September 29
Since the end of August, I've been back at school teaching so getting out for a day long drift on the Bow River is now a rare treat. I have tried to get out wading the Bow one or two times a week and have enjoyed that. Today my friend, John, and I drifted from Policeman's Flats to McKinnon Flats. We landed several smaller fish and three 16 to 18 inch rainbows. Fish were taking worm patterns and small lightning bug patterns. It has definitely cooled down the last few weeks and fall is certainly in the air but today was very pleasant while the sun was out and we had a very enjoyable day.
